The Laboratory for Physical-Mechanical Testing of Metallic and Non-Metallic Minerals – Laboratory for MP has the qualified and trained personnel for laboratory testing, the quality and regularly externally calibrated equipment by the authorized organizations thereby guaranteeing the high accuracy and reliability of test results. Also, it regularly participates in the inter-laboratory tests with Germany, Holland, England.
The field of work: waste, coal, soil, rocks, metallic and non-metallic mineral raw materials.
The accredited Laboratory for MP provides to the external and internal customers the following services:
- Characterization of mineral resources and land:
Physical and mechanical testing of chemical preparations and raw materials (metallic and non-metallic mineral raw materials): determining the sample moisture, bulk density, bulk density without pores and cavities, pH value of soil. - Sampling of waste and other materials in a solid and liquid state in the field
According to the accredited method by ATS, the Laboratory is equipped for sampling the waste, pulp, solid material in the field. - Testing the concentration of minerals
Laboratory testing by the physical methods of concentration: gravity concentration on a shaking table in a fluid water, magnetic concentration by dry and wet methods in the laboratory magnetic separators, the floating-sinking analysis in heavy liquids; laboratory testing by the flotation concentration: experiments on flotation concentration of minerals in the laboratory flotation machines, type DENVER . - Determining the resistance of minerals by crushing (Bond Index, Hardgrove Index)
To determine the Bond Grindability Index of metallic and non-metallic minerals and Hardgrove Grindability Index of coal, the Bond rod mill and ball mill are used as well as the Hardgrove apparatus for determining the resistance of coal to crushing. - Grain-size analysis
Grain-size analysis of metallic and non-metallic minerals, soil and solid fuels (coal, coke) is carried out by the standard accredited screening methods, on the external and internal calibrated series of sieves of the “IMPACT TEST” with the certified reference materials – glass beads. - Laboratory and semi-industrial testing
The MINPRO laboratory operates within the Department for Mineral Processing and Laboratory for Mineral Processing and Testing, as well as the semi-industrial testing plant (including technological units: crushing, grinding and flotation) to perform the extensive technological research on mineral raw materials of different compositions and origin, with the aim of defining the optimal technological parameters and achieving the favorable technological recoveries on tested mineral raw material. - Crushing of samples
For crushing of samples of different grain size, the customers have at their disposal the crushers as follows: small and large laboratory jaw crushers, roll crusher, hammer crusher, cone crusher.
