By establishment the Copper Institute Bor in 1962, the Library of the Institute was also established.

Initially, the Library united the book fund RTB Bor from the existing, at that time, small collections of books and journals by plants and the General Directorate General. After that, in the period from 1966-1969, the Library was integrated with the library of the Faculty of Mining and Metallurgy in Bor, and the INDOK center was formed in 1970. In 2010, the Library of the Institute was relocated from the RTB Bor building to the Institute building.

The library has over 36,000 primary documents: books, encyclopedias, handbooks, dictionaries, professional translations, studies and articles, reports from the official travels of employees, copies of the primary documents, patents and standards, master and doctoral theses, stored on the catalog cards sorted according to the UDC number, author and title of document.

The Library has about 500 kinds of foreign and about 100 kinds of domestic journals, so it has over 200,000 library units of periodicals.

Also, the oldest documents of the Library date back to the time of the French joint-stock company.
